Park Avenue Holiday Village
Park Avenue Holiday Village struggled with grassed access roads that rutted and balded all year round and became impassable in winter. High volumes of vehicle traffic plus constant foot traffic left the grass no respite to regrow.
The contractors excavated the ground, removing the top turf to a suitable depth, and installed a ground stabilisation mesh within the sub-base for extra strength. This was topped with compacted MoT hardcore and a geotextile membrane to keep the layers separate.
After levelling with a blinding layer of sharp sand, the X-Grid was laid and filled with a soil and grass seed mix. Once matured, the grass routes no longer rut or become muddy, the X-Grid is almost invisible while remaining solid and stable, and the surface can be mowed over without hindrance — allowing ride-on lawnmowers to maintain the routes quickly.
