How the X-Grid website uses essential cookies and manages consent for optional analytics and marketing technologies.
Status: launch draft — legal approval required.
Essential cookies
Some cookies are not optional. A website needs a way to remember your cookie choice between page loads, and forms need a way to prevent a submission being replayed. These essential cookies do not identify you, are not shared with advertising networks, and cannot be switched off while still using the site as intended. They are set the moment you arrive, before any choice is presented, because without them the consent choice itself could not be remembered.
Beyond those, the site is designed to work without storing anything on your device. There is no login to maintain, no basket, and no personalisation that would justify a tracking cookie. That is why the essential list is short: the fewer things the site needs to remember, the fewer cookies it has to set.
Optional technologies
The site will load analytics and marketing technologies only after the relevant consent. Until a visitor makes a positive choice, no analytics script runs, no marketing pixel fires and no third-party request is made for tracking purposes. Consent is granular: agreeing to anonymous usage measurement does not agree to advertising, and either can be refused independently. The default state is off, and refusing is as easy and as prominent as accepting.
This is deliberately stricter than the common pattern of loading analytics immediately and offering an opt-out afterwards. On a site about physical products the useful measurement is which technical pages help people decide, not who they are; analytics configured this way count page views and referrers in aggregate without building a profile that follows a visitor to other sites.
The inventory
A cookie statement is only trustworthy if its inventory matches reality. A draft written before launch can describe the categories and the intent, but it cannot honestly name every cookie, its provider and its exact lifetime — those are generated by the production configuration. The final cookie inventory must be generated from the production configuration and published here, replacing this draft, before the site is considered launched.
In the meantime, here is how to change your mind. Your choice can be adjusted at any time from the consent control, and every major browser also lets you see, block or delete cookies directly; doing so will not break the site’s essential functions. If you have a specific question about what is stored on your device, ask, and the answer will name the cookie rather than describe a category.
If you have not chosen yet
Arriving at the site without answering the consent prompt is not treated as agreement. Until a choice is made, only the essential cookies are set and no optional technology loads, so the default experience is the most private one. The prompt is deliberately not a wall: it can be dismissed, it does not block the content behind it, and it does not return on every page. If you close it without choosing, the site will behave exactly as it does for someone who has explicitly refused analytics and marketing.
It is also worth saying what consent is not. It is not a condition of access, and refusing it does not restrict access to anything on the site — the technical guides, downloads, comparison tables and configurator all work the same way regardless of your choice. The only thing consent changes is whether anonymous usage measurement runs.
