How to buy
X-Grid is sold through approved online sellers and, where available, local stockists listed above. Panels are supplied in packs, so the quantity you need usually comes from the area you are covering: nine panels to the square metre, plus a contingency for cuts around edges, corners and obstructions. Ordering the right amount once is the cheapest way to build a grid surface — part-packs left over rarely match the next job.
For a domestic driveway or path, an online seller is usually the quickest route. For anything larger, or anything with an unusual ground condition or load, talk to the technical team first: a five-minute conversation about the sub-base can save a rebuild, and the specification advice is free whether or not you buy direct.
Before you order
The two costs that surprise people are gravel and sub-base, not panels. Gravel runs to roughly 0.04 m³ per square metre for a 10–20 mm angular fill, and the sub-base depth is set by the traffic and the ground, not the grid. Working both out before the panel order means one delivery, one excavation and one tidy site — which is exactly what the configurator produces, and what the technical team will check.
If you are a trade customer or a stockist interested in carrying X-Grid, the same contact route applies: tell us the area you cover and the volumes you expect, and we will put you in touch with the right person.
Choosing a route
Which route is right depends less on price than on how certain you are of the specification. A standard domestic driveway or garden path with known ground and light traffic needs nothing more than the right panel count, and an approved online seller will deliver that in a few days: order the packs, order the stone, and follow the published build-up. There is no advantage in a bespoke conversation when the job is a solved one.
A local stockist helps when collection matters — when a job is small, when a delivery window is tight, or when you simply want to collect the same afternoon. Where the stockist network does not reach, the online sellers cover the whole of the UK, and the technical team sits behind both.
Talk to us direct when the project is bigger or less certain. Applications with unusual ground, heavier loads, drainage tied to a planning condition, trade volumes or a stockist enquiry all belong with a person, not a basket. Mixed sites — a driveway that also takes deliveries, a yard that doubles as a car park, a route with a slope to manage — are exactly the projects where fifteen minutes of specification support is worth more than any discount, because the cost of getting the sub-base wrong is measured in excavation, not in panels.
Whichever route you take, the build-up does not change. The panel, the stone grades and the recommended depths are the same whether the packs arrive from an online seller or are collected from a local stockist; what a stockist adds is speed and a local point of contact, not a different specification. That consistency is deliberate — it means the guidance on this site applies to every purchase, and a surface built from one source behaves like a surface built from another.
